Hey all,

I was really curious if anyone knew why it seems like my USB 2.0 belkin N1 wifi dongle is downloading/uploading faster than my expresscard N1 from Belkin. Both are working in a hackintosh HP DV9260NR - it detects the N1 as a wireless airport device and i get the icon on top and fits into the expresscard slot but the speeds are almost 1/2 to 3/4 that of the USB 2.0 port. It baffles me.... I would have thought the USB 2.0 would be slower than the PCI Expresscard.

By the way, I'm using Kalyway 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 combo update with all apple installation updates and running the vanilla kernel 9.2.2

Using PCpitstop.com, the USB dongle can get 12400 or 12200Kbps... and the N1 PCI Expresscard gets 8000Kbps or 9200-9500Kbps from the same test site/distances... uploads are also affected.

Shouldn't the Expresscard be faster in throughput? Maybe it's a motherboard issue/driver issue... but i'm not sure which one to replace. I'd prefer the expresscard but if the USB dongle is faster, I'll just keep and use that one.

I'm using both of these devices because my computer has the intel 3945abg wifi built in and doesn't work... and Using this in conjunction with the Applie wireless N timecapsule.

Any input would be grealy appreciated.
