deejayts
Hello everyone... I have an nForce3 MSI motherboard, AMD Athlon64 3200+ CPU, 2GB DDR400, 2 SATA Maxtor HDs, 1 PATA HD (on which I installed MacOsx)... ...my problem is the following... First I installed MacOsX Leopard Kalyway 10.5.2 on an old UDMA66 PATA drive. The installation went fine and the boot was ok. It recognized and mounted all the other SATA drives attached to my motherboard perfectly. Then I decided to upgrade my old PATA HD to a more performant one (ATA133 7200RPM), installed Kalyway on it, rebooted and... got an error about my attached SATA drives! Here is a picture of the boot process on the new PATA hard disk: I checked my AppleNForceATA.kext and AppleVIAATA.kext kernel extensions and verified that my SATA controller ID is in them. Why was SATA recognized with the old HD and not with the new one?
deejayts
It seems that the new installation didn't like my 3rd and 4th SATA channels. I just moved my drives to the 1st and 2nd SATA channels respectively and everything went fine.
