QTime
hey guys, since a few days my hack-pro is up. the config is like listed. ga-p35-ds4 rev 2,0 q6600 8800gtx, xfx, XXX-edition ( yes, i like X´s :< ) has only few more mhz.. round 630. 8gb g.skill pc8000 ram samsung f1 640gb samsung s203p everything is working great: usb, lan, sound, sleep, restart, shutdown even the graphicscard is now working - but only with 256mb ram. i tried some kexts at the beginning - nvinject, nearly all versions. i also modified them with the VRAM,totalsize, but they never worked at all ! ( guess i did sth wrong, but havnt figuered out exactly what. then i tried nvinstaller 4.1. this works atm - 8800gtx detected, sleep working and everything is cool except the thing with the ram. the card has 768mb ram, only 256mb are deteced. not that i mind - i mean i still would keep the card - getting this problem fixed or not - but maybe there is some1 who has an 8800gtx working with 768mb ram and could tell me how he or she got his card working. maybe send me a allready modified kext? i actually dont think the problem is the "xxx-edition", with few more mhz. best regards simon quint btw: when i want to get windows back on that harddrive ( need some programs for overclocking, then come back to osx ) do i have to mind anything? actually i get an error when i try installing windows. sg
what are you using to determine how much memory is active for your card? the stuff in system profiler is simply cosmetic. load up 'opengl extensions viewer' (google it) and see what it says for 'report' tab. originally with nvinject or nvkush, it would report 256M but opengl extension viewer would see my full 512M like this: Renderer: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512 OpenGL Engine Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Memory: 512 MB Version: 2.0 NVIDIA-1.5.
