Does anyone have step by step instructions to install an 8800GT without the graphics update as it messes up my system..., I get a graphics error after the white apple screen with the 8800GT if the graphics update is not installed, so any work around without actually installing it, using nvinject 0.2.1, but what else do I have to do to get it to work?..

the graphics update contains the drivers for the 8800gt (g92 core 8800s) and is required. If something is wrong your card might be defective or there is some other issue with your OSX installation.

no and no, my previous 7600gt worked fine without it, but when installing it causes the grey screen error, i.e machine boots to a grey screen instead of leopard 50% if the time, so as I said is there a way to install the card without it, i.e extract the required drivers form it and install them via terminal....

you can use pacifist on the graphics update package, you'll see it only installs the kexts (so i'm not sure what you'd do). i also don't see what the 7600gt has to do with any of this other than tell me there is something wrong with your system, make sure you also have a 10.5.2 kernel and not anything older (as well as the proper/matching opengl.framework).

but whatever you decide to do, you need the graphics update 1.0 kexts and opengl.framework for g92 cards (8800gt) to work.
