Ok, so here's the deal:I have Kalyway 10.5.2 installed. Everything works except I have to have USB stuff plugged in at boot to see it, including my iphone. Well, I saw a thread on here that said the 10.5.3 kexts would fix this. So I installed them with the kext helper. Didn't fix the problem, my external HD with not mount when being plug in after boot, and the iPhone isn't seen in iTunes anymore, but it is seen in system profiler. Is there a way I can get the kalyway usb kext's off the dvd, or can someone upload them. I Don't won't to have to sync my iphone in windows...

edit:

I fixed it...

I downloaded the 10.5.2 update from apple's site, extracted the system.kext from it using pacifist and and installed the kext using kext helper! Works! Yay.

I have this same thing and it is because of some "corrupted" phone contacts. If you dont press that sync with address book thing the problem disappears. I just dont have any clue which contact it is. So someday I will try to delete those newest added ones and try if the problem disappears.

Thing is also that in this situation you cant uncheck that sync option :)

how is your iphone/touch hard drive formatted?

if you originally used it in windows (FAT formatting), i dont think it reads in mac (hfs formatting).

i could be wrong, but just an idea as my ipod 5gen doesn't show up in mac either, but after reformatting it in linux to hfs it worked fine.

I'm having the same problem - my USB hard drive and other devices work fine, but the iPhone acts like it's not connected. No charging icon, and iTunes doesn't see it... but it's listed in System Profiler!

I have just the same problem! Please, anybody help.

Image Kalyway 10.5.2 and motherboard is Gigabyte GA965p-S3

When I am going to About this mac I see this
