If anyone could help me with this, I would love it....I just am going from the 8800GTS (G92) 512MB with two monitors through DVI to a 9800GX2 1GB with three monitors, one through HDMI 2 through DVI. I am wondering what I need to do support wise to get it to work. Will I need to change the Vram size to 0000040 in the NVinject.kext file and it should work, or will there be more I need to do? I would prefer for all three screens to work, do I need a GFX string for this? Thank you so much anyone!

Changing the VRAM size alone won't do it. It's not really a 1GB card, just TWO 512MB 9800GTX's sharing a single PCIe slot. So what you'd probably need to do is something like this.

I completely agree with this, that would make sense, how do you think Mac would recognize it? Should I plug it in and see if I get any type of support? Is is very hard to deal with the Xcode GFX strings and install them? Sorry, I haven't used the GFX Strings before since I've always had cards that were supported by others. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have no idea whether GX2 will work with Leopard or not. But then GFX string is very easy, you just need some very basic terminal skill and follow the instructions. In fact, it just involves running a command twice, and editing a plist file.

Wow that does seem pretty easy, rumor has it that the version .41 installer of nvinject allowed the 9800GTX to work, now it is just to have that 1GB memory option for the GX2...

I don't think its just that easy. 9800 GTX is a single G92 core, even that NVinject (or Natit) didn't quite work for me, it didn't get QE/CI set up, I needed to use GFX string method to get everything going. GX2 is a dual core implementation very much like SLI, which is a totally different story. From what i have heard, the best you get from a real SLI (2 cards) box is treat them as separate cards in Leopard (more monitors, perhaps?), but get the speed up benefit when booting into Windows. I am not sure how it will work if it is 2 cards in 1 like GX2.

I give up, maybe I am not trying the right things but I cant get it to work I just don't have the knowledge of graphics kexts enough I don't think. If anyone is willing to give it a go I will paypal anyone 20 bucks if they could just get it working for me.

The problem is that with 2 GPU's sharing a single PCI Express slot, Mac OS won't be able to properly map the hardware address for the card (ie, it'll look at the slot the card's supposed to be in and get confused when it sees two cards). The 1GB memory WON'T be an issue; the card is physically two underclocked 9800GTX's sharing a single slot. The cards don't share memory. AFAIK, the Operating System sees TWO 512MB cards, not one 1GB. Check out the link I posted before about the dual 9800's, I saw discussion in that thread regarding 9800GX2.

I don't think so, the card coul be recognized with a proper gfx string using two PCI roots, see this post: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=736076

Right now is not showing the desktop, don't hnow if works with Remote Desktop or Screen Sharing, I believe with a correct NVCAP values could work.
