danibyte27
Hi!!! Sorry for the upper cases in the title, but I don't know what to do - Yesterday I successfully installed Leopard 10.5.2 (leoxallv2) on my amd pc, and all seemed to work well - This morning I tried to install a driver for my graphic card (Ati x1950gt) but, when I rebooted, the system loaded with a blank screen and I don't see anything :-(( Could you please help me to restore the old parameters or to force system to boot correctly? Yesterday I saw that there's a system to boot in console, but I don't find it.. Please help me!!! :-) Have a good day Daniela Edited April 28, 2008 by Hagar removed caps & clarified title
rusteswan
I had a similar issue with GMAX3100 over the weekend. At the Darwin bootloader press F8, highlight "Mac OSX" and at the "boot:" prompt type "-v -s" (without the quote marks) Once its booted enter the two commands it tells you to get write access- /sbin/fsck -fy /sbin/mount -uw / then cd /System/Library/Extensions lastly rm -rf nameofX1950kext.kext I dont know what kexts you'll need to remove but they should be reasonably obvious names.... Im using an X3870 on this machine and it uses the ATIRadeonX2000 kext so if my grpahics where broken on this system thats the kext i'd remove. On my GMAX3100 i had to remove AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext etc Also be careful to remove only kexts which a driver package installed or that you have backups of so you can replace them if need be. reboot. done. danibyte27
Many thanks my dear Rusteswan!!! I just did as you said and now it works!! :-) Now, all that I have to do, is to find a correct graphic driver for my card.. But at least now I'm able to restore in case of accident! :-) Many thanx again!! Daniela
