Hello,

None of the osx86 releases recognize my Sata HDD, I tried plugging a 4GB old IDE drive and it detects it.

Now I was wondering if I buy a SATA to IDE convertor from ebay to make my computer think my SATA hard drive is an IDE hard drive.

Are these convertors compatible with osx86 releases?

Here is a picture of the controller, I think that they are all generic ones.

I've discovered that I had the same problem when I bought a fat 500 GB SATA drive and Installer didn't see it.

If its a hardware only adapter like a USB to PS/2 mouse adapter and doesn't require extra drivers to work, then my guess is it should work. However, the SATA drive may not perform as fast as natively plugging it into SATA.

Actually I have confirmed SiS support now in my upcoming release. These are the Device ID's I have compiled for SiS that should be working: 0x01801039 0x01821039 0x11831039 0x01831039 0x55131039

:D

Thanks, I'm downloading it right now to test.
