This will be very bitter for Steve Jobs. He know this, but the stream is very powerful that nothing can't stop.

The Mac is dead. Apple becomemes like Dell. What will be inside a Mac.

1. The same motherboard as a PC X86. The same contructors and chipset intel , nvidia etc..

2. The same RAM as for PC

3. The same Graphic card as à PC

4. The same processors X86 INTEL Inside and ... (AMD too look Conclusion) .

5. The same Hard drive for a PC.

Conclusion:

This 5 last years Apple said that Mac is 4 times more powerful that à PC and more and more...

NOW

1. Now we can install OSX in every PC. Intel or AMD processors.

2. I don' t want to buy an Apple logo 3 time more expensive than à PC assambly by Dell.

3. So i can buy un PC 3 batter price that un Apple assambly and so can install the OSX in.

4. So MAC computer is dead.

5. OSX now became un OS like Fedora , Redhat, Debian and others...

6. OSX is a very powerfool system but we have to test it vs WinXP in a PC.

One story finished , another start.

Well this'll be fun!

alright: macs have always had the same ram, hard drives, and graphics cards as PCs. Their motherboards rly don't make much of a difference, although they'll not be motherboards you can just go out and buy: same chipset, CUSTOM motherboards. And yes, processors will be the same. One point for you, four for the educated world.

So now you're little "conclusion" (ROTFLMAO!). A PC and a Mac are STILL two very different machines because of the OS. And the OS is more efficient still. So they are still snappier and generally "faster". But i hope you understand the 4x thing was never true anyways... one point for intellectuals everywhere.

NOW

1. Now we can install OSX in every PC. Intel or AMD processors.

More Fun!!! We cannot install OSX in every PC. That's got to be the overstatement of the century. Apple and Dell are two very different corporations offering very different products due to very different quality levels. Apple is high quality. Dell offers high quality stuff, but not in the same philosophy as Apple. You're number 3...you're poor parents. And if that were typed well, the answer would be a well-pronounced "no". number four: Mac is dead. I'm taking off eight points for that one. OSX like Redhat and others...just no. By that logic(sorry...no logic, but i'm being nice here...), it has also become like windows because it is installable on certain computers, which makes mac alive, contradicting 4. Indeed. And sure: two competitors who currently don't have dual boots set up for the maintream on PCs should be tested because Apple wants us all to have OSX on our PCs. You idiot, Apple wants us to buy Mac computers. Because people ARE buying them, they are not dead, and because they make them, they are not PCs. Not by definition, anyways. They are Macs.

Total Points: I am generous. (Did you know that "I" is the subject of that sentence? Oh, "am" is the verb "to be", and "generous" is an adverb describing the verb "am".) Hence, I will generously accord you negative six points for cheer amusement, and award the population of the world educated enough to decipher the coded cybercrap above 106 points.

Congrats guys and gals,

WE'VE WON!!!

Hello world ! Open your eyes.

I don't if this post will stay for long time.... I hope in that the specialists behind this forum are "Open Spirit " .

You said "educated world" . It"s not the discution here. We are not talking about "educated world" or "not educated world" here.

A PC and a Mac are STILL two very different machines because of the OS.

I work at 2 OS since 15 years, Win and MacOS, some times at a second PC with Red Hat. So i know the differents between a Mac and PC.

More Fun!!! We cannot install OSX in every PC.

The PC processors must have SSE2 and SSE3 Instructions. So you can. But not at Pentoum 3. :D

read this http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=25843

Man, i don't care about Dell or Appel philosophy. Phylosophy, in your text means, publicity - communication - marketing - over selling .

READ THIS AND OPEN YOUR EYES and THINK.

1+1=2. We have 2 cars. Inside them we have the same motors, the same tires, the same pieces. The first car is red and cost 1000$ . The second is blue and cost 3000$. What car you buy ?

We are not talking about the drivers (os, win or mac os , linux etc). Now the same driver (os, win or mac os , linux etc) can drive both cars.

It's not complicated my question. There are not binary calculation in my question.

I did n't moore to buy an mac because i'm not stupid and make rich Steve Jobs that he don't merit.

Apple want this or no, the step is made. It was the time of changes. The OSx will be open for all computers (exept SGI). If Apple try to stop this it will be a great step back of progress for her. She can become a assambly computers like Dell or HP, but she must not said to people that she made a new computer.

MAC now it is a PC inside with a frontage logo Apple.

Sorry for my english.

I find it hard not to comment on the statement that "Apple hardware is high quality".

This for the most part is simply not true.

Apple HW is made by HW manufacturers around the world and is similar in quality to what PC's use.

The vast majority is also used in PCs and other equipment.

Apple is not a HW producer, they buy components and put them together in their own special way.

This often works more reliably than an average PC simply because Apple controls the composition and configuration of the HW and its integration with the software. It is this that causes the experience that "Apple HW is more reliable", at least often..

To say that the ACTUAL circuits and parts are higher quality is COMPLETELY FALSE, they are identical(mostly) to HW used elsewhere.!

Especially when considering the actual selling price. You pay for "the Mac Experience" as a whole, not so much for what's in the box..

Apple has a long history of great design(looks) combined with occasional technical goofs of a magnitude that would put PC manufacturers out of business.

Remember the self-combusting iMac 1G, anyone?

How about the infamous 8x SuperDrive that will only write reliably at 2x. :)

Titanium PB with the WiFi antenna on the INSIDE(faraday cage)! :P

Mac Mini VGA output too low, does not work well with all monitors while a PC has no problems.

(writing this on my Mini on DVI)

What makes "the Mac Experience" great is the OVERALL way it works, while some of the DETAILS are best forgotten. Those "details" are of course most easily forgotten by those who didn't actually PAY for them..

The (Mac)world is not black OR white..

I'm not a mod so maybe I should not comment, but IMHO it would be better to just debate the points and leave out all the insults and derision, slamming someone for bad english when it is obviously not their first language just makes you seem like a jackass.

Well. I you are rich you can buy 50 mac / month and collection it.

...

1+1=2. We have 2 cars.

Ok this is gonna sound totally cruel, but those parts of vegar's post made me laugh uncontrollably. :)

I love language barriers. Tehehe...

Excuse me, I need to go water my garden... which consists of a collection of 50 mac computers that I, for whatever reason, decided to plant into the ground. Yes, you heard me correctly. Why? Because I collect them monthly and I have nothing better to do with them. And yeah, each is encrusted in gold and platinium.

I thought 1+1 = 11. We have 11 cars. If each travels at 200 mph, they will collide with a combined speed (200+200) of 400 mph. Now we have no cars... (I didn't see the point of that part of the post)

:gun::guitar::gathering: Yeah im using smiley-overkill. Sue me.:2cents::blink:

Congratulations

The "Most Useless Thread of the Day" award goes to.. this topic!!! *confetti* :(

Seriously - how many times has this old topic come up now?

The transition to intel does not mean the end of apple. Why? Because for the most part your average mac user wouldn't know if his mac contained a powerpc or a core duo if it was embossed in neon flashing lights on the front of the chassis.

The average mac owner is even less likely to think of buying a Dell complete with windows factory installed only to overwrite it with mac os x. Remember the mac was designed for the type of person who would run for the hills if the installation instructions came complete with acronyms such as SSE3 PAE PPF or DMG!!

The average mac owner will probably be far more concerned about aesthetics than price points - i am happy to pay an extra few hundred dollars for a computer that doesn't look as though the designer finalised the reference model by stuffing all the component parts up his nose and sneezing them out again.

For people who can't afford a mac - yeah its a good thing but since they never bought macs in the first place their use of os x on generic boxes isn't going to affect apple's fortunes at all.

Yeah, -.-, this thread has had more than its share of insults. Let's try to tone those down, guys. They'll just be deleted, like they have now been in this thread.

vegar, thanks for having the courage to sign up on a new board and share your opinion in a language that isn't your native tounge. Since you're new here, you deserve to know that things like this have been discussed before, and we're pretty sure that the Mac isn't dead.

But thanks for your opinions and welcome to the forum

Some people didn't understand the esential of this post.

Apple has many products. Ipod, MAC (laptop and workstation), softwhare , OSX, (op. system), Final Cut, Imove , Studio Pro etc.... and Pixar.

We are talking here in this post about her product called MAC.

Apple has allowed actually to install WIN Xp in Mac.

If Apple allowed to install OSX in a PC, (very naturally and very progressive decision for the democracy of technology), tomorrow you will find at your computer's store the vendor who propose a PC ,Dell or HP assambly and less you to choosse: PC with OSX or PC with WInXP.

Do you imagine the paysage? This is the deth assured of Mac.

It is important to undesrtstand Mac i86 core IT IS NO MOORE ANOTHER COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIE, like SGI

It is the same technologie like a PC with a hardware protection.

2 years ago i discuted with a softwhare engineer about the IBM procesors. He said it is the most power processors. And now after 2 years?

Hope now it's very clear , and i'am waitng intelligent replaying.

If you will ever be able to buy an OSx preinstalled on a Dell or Gateway computer then the Mac Computers will have less sales but I know many people who will only buy an apple made computer...

It is the difference from a mac and a normal pc... Anything you buy from apple will work perfect with osx... They make the drivers... It is what made the PPC computers so stable. If Gateway or dell made a computer that ran OSx it wouldn't have the support from apple to make perfect drivers...

Windows Boxes are really unstable because the drivers are third party… the makers of the drivers don’t know the OS as well as the makers of the OS. If Micro$oft made all the drivers windows would be much more stable then what it is now.

Also mac computers look way cooler than anything known to the human race.

there are lots of things that you overseen, but I think that was your mission.

You still can't compare apple hardware and ordinary PC.

1. visual design

Apple has high quality design, which is not found in other low-end computers(compare it with.. you can buy mp3 player from creative.. with bigger memory, with bigger display, but that is just not ipod.)

2. features

Apple has many built-in features that simply aren't on normal pc boxes.

Did you seen iMac clone somewhere ? I didn't...

3. make-you-feel different.

Some people hate this part, but we all try to separate from ordinary.

that is why you buy mercedes, but you know that lexus has all its features, looks good, but simply isn't it.
