You can remove the file booting in -s mode and mounting the drive with read write access (you will get instructions on how to do that when the boot process is done).
Then type this in the terminal:
CODE
rm -R /System/Libraray/Extensions/Natit.kext

1 q from me, is the devid for the 2600XT the same as the 3870? I got the same id (if it says 9501 then) and i got same problem, but in -x my boots but only res change, in normal boot it hangs with a blue screen

interface namer:no network interfaces, could not update platform UUID

-You should enable network in bios I think. I got same message and after enable network it was boot OK. (Sorry my english:)))) )

if you can get to a terminal, you should be able to type rm /system/library/extensions/natit.kext

At least i believe so, also, if you have another OS on that comp, you can install Macdrive, and then delete it from that OS.

find and change <string>0x436211AB</string> to <string>0x436411AB</string></key> (change 62 to 64)
find and change <string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8053 Singleport Copper SA</string> to <string>Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8056 Singleport Copper SA</string> (change 53 to 56)
I copied this the hole set section for about my card to my com.apple.Boot.plist.
rebooted . this solved all my ethernet problems.
