Just wondering, How are people skinning there docks to look like the dock in Leopard? Thanx
Ramm
That's impossible, Torqu3, from what I've seen and tried.
Torqu3
So is it just the installation of Leopard you can get it....
Ramm
Yes, we actually have Leopard.

Overflow - Here

The 3rd application that you see in my dock is "overflow". Its an app that lets you store all application shortcuts in an organized menu. It's extremely useful for those apps that are from the same family, like the Creative Suite CS3, Final Cut Studio (or any Apple app)

bh2
You don't need overflow to do that. Just create a new folder, drag aliases of your fave apps into it then drag onto your dock... works just as well, maybe not as pretty though.

That's another way of doing it yes, however there are several downsides to that. One is that you have to have ALL your apps aliases in 1 folder which makes it longer to search, or you have to create another folder in side that to have "families" of apps (i.e CS3, Final Cut Studio, etc.)..which again take even longer to search. Or you have to create seperate folders in your dock for different families of apps..which again takes longer.

With Overflow, all you have to do is hit F1, and the screen fades in, then use option+up arrow to cycle through the families. It's much faster, because I have tried the suggestion you have before I purchased Overflow.
bh2
Okay EFI... might give overflow a try.

Ugh, Overflow is rubbish. Have you guys even tried Quicksilver? I can access any application on my computer in 2 seconds max! And you know what - it's freeware too! tongue.gif

Ofcourse I use Quicksilver lol. As an individual who can type at speeds of 90wpm, for me Quicksilver is probably the single best app out there for OS X. Period. Overflow (imo) is just the cream on top.

Quicksilver on top of Overflow.

Simple and clean, I really love this setup. I'm going back and forth between this desktop picture and the one of my MBP I've been using for awhile.

Oh, and just in case anyone was wondering why I'm using iChat/Messenger instead of Adium; I need iChat's great video functionality, and it's much more enjoyable to use. Imho, iChat and Messenger used together work better and have more functionality than Adium alone.

I know it's off-topic, but Taylor, what are those 3 things from the left in your menu bar?

Also, can you please tell me where I can get that desktop image? tongue.gif
Taylor_C
From the left to the right: Last.fm, a music social networking service, ByteController for iTunes, and Twitterific. The desktop can be found here.

Thanks! smile.gif
