i would say its a photoshoped shape on the wall,

It is from Agua Extras I think.

Its photoshopped. Then he placed a clock, adium and coversutra (I assume) there. Look at the top bit going into the translucent menu bar.

What Is The finder with 9?

Its Sheepshaver, a Mac OS 9 emulator. The original icon is absolutely hideous, so I replaced it with the Mac OS Classic icon.
