Does anyone still use Usenet? I just signed up with Giganews to see what it is like. Which search engine do you use for mac apps?

Isn't Usenet for warez? We're not supposed to discuss that here.

i'm pretty sure dmoz has a listing you may be interested in reading that is all about nzb's
and no, people still do use it for things other than warez, what those things are however is not immediately apparent.

Discussion is fine (to an extent) but links to pirated material is not allowed.

Are there any tutorials that you know of on how to get apps to work from binary stuff? I have macpardeluxe, stuffit, and split and concat. Just need to know how to get all the .zip files and everything working. Everything that I have tried just does not seem to work. This is much more different then torrents or even the days of IRC, haha.

i personally like sabnzbd, but i think unison will work too. as far as tutorials, sab does it all for you as far as grabbing, verifying and unzipping/unraring. you may want to look at that or unison if you like.

formerly, usenet was born for chatting and newsgrups, usenet "protocol" itself is not warez, all depends on the server you connect on
