I didn't know if anyone knows what I should do or how to get around it. I was trying to follow the directions on page 25. I have an ASRock X58 extreme MB with this bios:

After extracting, I find that there is only one instance of "DSDT" and no instance of "WAKh" !

Any experts out there who can lead me from here?

Onboard RTL 8111 ethernet
Onboard realtek HD audio (different implementation of Intel ALC888)

1x Samsung 320GB
Winfast 8600 GT extreme 256 Mb (same as Nvidia 8600GT) or ASUS EN 7600 GS 256Mb (same as nvidia 7600GS)


Issues: Only runs on 1 core and sse2, and no AHCI mode , although the chipset should support it, can only switch SATA IDE on/off.
Maybe more problems, but i cannot even install OSX with only 1 core running, panic attack when halfway through the install.
This might be related to the inability to switch to AHCI mode

Issues:
I can run with both cores, but only with DSDT patch applied to my bios. But the computer apparently still doesn't like it because many things will cause kernel panics on my system. In addition to that, running two cores causes an overheating problem. I think I needed my bios modded for this.

Hey guys i'm a new user, i'm italian so i'm sorry for my bad english..
I've read all this 87 pages but i can't found a solution for my MSI P31 Neo that doesn't start.
I think that is the bios because i have tried a lot of osx86 distributions, a lot of configuration, the installation i successful but still unable to boot..
I hope that someone that has the same mobo of mine have found a solution..

are you using a sata hard drive if so check yr drive settings in bios make sure its set to sata mode if a sata drive first thing i would try is to reset the bios or if its a ide drive make sure set to ide i had this problem windows insatalls ok then after restart wont boot

For any G2S out there that want sleep mode working here is a link to my thread which I have attached my DSDT patch which you can drag into the root of your drive if you are using the chameleon bootloader.. cannot confirm if it works with chameleon v2 or not.

I collaborated with nawcom and wrote part of it, along with referencing material from The King, csharpmac and 67GTA.

I imagine you can probably flash it to your BIOS if you compile the dsdt.aml into it but I cannot say how it will effect a dual boot environment..

I got the same issue as VaNaLunD... same laptop, same bios, but with some differences: I got Intel Core2Duo T9550 and Atheros wireless adapter, not Y9400 and Intel wireless adapter. Is that a problem? Can I use the same modded BIOS as VaNaLunD?

First I just Want to say thanks for all the work you have done for every body! Second (the reason im posting) I have an Asus U81a and I can install iDeneb 100% fine but on reboot I get:

"MAC Framework successfully initialized
using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"

After doing some reading it seems that this has to do with ACPI. As you mods are tinkering with edit parts of this i thought your mod might help.

Try the ACPI Fix from iPC 10.5.6, that should solve your problem
