Hello folks, I'd like to buy a new 17" notebook and I'd like to hear some advices on the best (read most compatible) one to use with Leopard.

I've seen that new HP Pavilions dv96xx and dv97xx have a Geforce 8400M/8600M which is compatible, using the nvinject enabler. But the audio card is said to be "3D Sound Blaster Pro 16 bit compatible" so I have no idea if audio will work. For the rest it should be ok, I suppose.

So, any advice is greatly welcome, wether you recently bought a 17" 100% compatible "hackbook" just let me know brand and model, thanks !

PS: I really wanted to go for a 17" Macbook Pro but heck ... their cost should make Apple a bit "embarassed", don't you agree ? 2.700,00 euros is really overpriced, IMO

Looks like the HP Pavilions dv9xxx is a good choice. I hope you have also checked out the wiki site: 10.4.8 portables, 10.5.1 portables.

I agree about the Macbook Pro. Great laptop, but too expensive, especially in Europe and other countries than USA.

About sound: You can always get it working with a usb sound card (which is REALLY cheap), so I woulnd't worry too much about it.
