Does anyone think they could make a widget that will monitor the status of Time Machine and display when the last backup occured?
I was amazed when I googled this and found nothing, it seems like such a useful widget to have if for nothing more then piece of mind.

Hi Errandwolf:
I'm not running Leopard yet (still running Tiger) but this sounds like a great idea for a widget.
I'm sure that many Leopard users would find this widget invaluable.

We'd have to figure out where the Time Machine prefpane is pulling its "last backup" stat from, and then go from there.
This intrigues me, even though I have next to no widget-programming experience.

It would also be neat to have a "backup now" button.

Hmm, I've been having a dig through Time Machine and I still can't find anything that tells you what the values are...

Me too. I know how to start a TM backup, but not how to find out the last time it was ran.

This is a good idea, I just need an hd to use with time machine. I'm thinking about buying a g4 and putting leo server & a couple of sata drives in it, hook it all up with my cisco.
