Hey Taruga... It looks good... WCAPS ok also... you are going for an all default config right ?? Since you have no implementation of some of the extra nodes....

REMINDER TO ALL : Make sure you are in single user mode! This means boot with F8 and choose -S option

Taruga : Can we already place/use this codec ? Is the rest of the code already in the kext ? Or is it just the code for detection only ?? Don't want to screw up my install at the moment..

I need to check if itīs reading the info correctly on different chipsets and codecs
If you have you ownr linux codec dump, report if there is any difference on: Address and Subsystem

Not Detected Codecs Seems that itīs not detecting codecs that show Address 2 in linux dump (and maybe Address 1 also) I need to find a way to detect them as the new patcher will use this detection method. If I cannot detect a codec, the new patcher will not work with them a most worse, I cannot program the codec initialization. I hope to find whatīs wrong.

It's pretty much the same as the first time, except for the bottom half, but since that shows 0x00000000, again it's NOT recognizing anything, AFAIK.

Just tried the v5. As it detects my 56k modem (which is on adress 0) instead of my ALC880 (on adress 1) , it doesn't work properly.

For pc_efi_v8 users, you can now remove ALCinject and use gfx strngs instead. Checjk the netkas' forum.
Taruga's patches are still needed.

Hello everyone and Taruga,

I want to test my Conexant waikiki but i don't know what happens. Because when i want to use this "chown -R root:wheel /HDAudio.kext", I see in the terminal "operation not permitted"
I have uphunk 10,4,9 v1,4 r2
Please help me

you should type : sudo chown -R root:wheel /HDAudio.kext
and : sudo chmod -R 755 /HDAudio.kext

Whitehorse, did you try that with superuser privilegies? Try typing: sudo -s when you open the terminal, enter your password (you have to set a password, or else it won't work properly) and then do chown -R root:wheel HDAudio.kext and the rest of the commands Taruga advises on the first post

you'll find it under: /var/log/system.log

after kextloading when in single user mode (F8 + -s) do:

cp /var/log/system.log /systemHDA_log.txt

after rebooting to the OSX GUI, go to the disk on the upper right screen corner and you'll find the log file

After booting -s and loading HDaudio.kest (v5), I did not know how to get loading details as text file
So, I took a picture of the screen (attached) and rebooted

mine is leo 10.5.0, intel d946gzis motherboard sigmatel onboard audio stac9227
vendor id and device id do not match with linux codec dump i get 0x00000000 for both vendor and device id, all the best taruga

With both v3 and v5 I get no output other than 'kext successfully loaded', or whatever osx says.. Far prefer modprobe/insmod tongue.gif


I've attached the codecs grabbed from linux - one is for the STAC9205, the other looks like it's the HDA component of the modem.

This is from the Dell Latitude D630 described in my sig.

Here's another one with problems posting v5 results.
v3 doesn't work for me, load correctly without any out, v5 gives me a lot of informations, but I'm not able to find it !
There is not trace in system.log !
I have to close test with a CTRL-C and then exit or reboot.
Can you please someone drop me a note about where can I grab kextload output ?

AppleHDAPatcher doesn't support My ALC262 on Intel ICH7-m in my Lenovo F50A......
it says "doesn't supported Generic 11c1 Si3054 Detected".

Hello, guys. First of all THANK YOU, I cannot believe the effort and passion you are putting on all of this (and sorry for my English, I speak Spanish...).

Iīm trying to install OSX on an HP Pavilion 9572ea:

Intel Centrino C2D 7300
GeForce 8400 MGS 128MB
Intel HD Audio
2G RAM
2 physical WD 160 GB HDD

(It seems to be similar to HP 6580el)

First, installed JaS 10.4.8 (previously tested on an Asus P4C800 Deluxe, GeForce 5200fx, perfect with dual displays at full res). It worked on the HP 9572ea, but no audio and only 1024x768 graphs with poor windows control, obviously no QE/CI. Tried with all NVinject and NVinjectGo kexts, Natits, Titans, etc.

Then installed iAtkos 10.5.1 with embedded EFI, but the only way it booted in "EFI mode" was partitioning with 10.4.8 (wich has no options for MBR or GUID).

Almost everything was recognized without any patch, except Graphics and Audio.

The graphic card (nVidia 8400 GS) issue was partially solved (it doesnīt recognize external monitor) replacing all "GeForce..." an "NV..." kexts with the 10.5.2 packs:

So I need a driver and/or some trick for " Intel HDA - 0x103c30cc " to work under Leopard 10.5.1 (iAtkos v1.0i), on an HP Pavilion 9572ea.

PLEASE: How can I resolve this problem?

ur kexts showed exacly the same. didnt make any dumps cos i could mount the volume in read-write mode but checked few times with both versions of ur kext and they showed just the same vendor/id/revision

Hi may be someone here can help me. I have a Acer M5630 desktop. It has a Realtek HD Audio, ALC888, ICH7. I have Kalyway 1.5.1 installed. I don't seem to be able to get the audio working properly. I have done a code dump with the alc888, I used Taruga's AppleHDpatcherv1.20. After I did everything and reboot. In the sound system preferences->sound, all the correct inputs and out puts showed up, but I still have no sound, not from the line out nor from the headphone. Took a look at at the System Profiler, under Audio, it says No Built-in Audio. I am not sure what's wrong, can someone help me?

Hi, for me they were the same to (codec_dump and the output of the kextload). But I don' t know how to find the output of the kextload in a log. I just made a picture of it for comparing. Where can i find it? My dump is in the attachment. There was a slight difference betwee the two actually. The dump reported: "Revision Id: 0x100001" while the kextload said: 0x00100001. I guess this is now problem.

Hey,

So the version 3 doesn't seem to really load, the 5 version loads with the correct IDs. I have tried to load this whilst AppleHDA and AppleAzaliaAudio are not loaded but I don't get any devices(in or out).

Anyone got any tips?

(With the normal kext's loaded I can get sound over the speakers, just the jacks(mic/headphones) don't do jack!)

Here's one more without any clue how to capture the kextload output in single user mode. Tried IO redirection - didn't work.
So here is my screenshot from v6 loading on a AD1981HD system.

I follow Taruga's instructions at post #1 except I do mount the file system. After loading the kext I run

dmesg > HDAudioOutput

then exit. When OS X starts up I edit the file HDAudioOutput so that it just has the info that Taruga is asking for.
