Hi I have 4 x 1g sticks of ddr2 800 running dual channel and leopard recognizes the 4g but sys it is only running at 400mhz instead of 800 it's not a major issue cause everything stills works fine. I'm more just curious about it, but if there is a way to fix it to recognize it as 800, I'd like to know so I can fix it.

Also could someone tell me how to change it from using 2 cores to just 1.

thanks in advance.

Install EFI, I think.

There are plenty of guides around here and osx86scene.

EFI may work, although it may not, I had the same problem in Tiger, it says my 4x1gb 667 chips are 333, turns out with my motherboard, if all slots are full, this is the speed it runs at, kinda retarded I though. Not sure if you have a similar problem or not. But it seems they are running fine, I would say if it aint broke dont fix it. It just says something different, I understand your frustration as I had the same feelings.

And to use just 1 core, I believe you boot it with a flag of cpus=1

You can likely put that in the .com.apple.Boot.plist, but I'm not entirely certain what Key and String would be used to do so or if you can just drop that right in there. At first just try booting with cpus=1 like you would if you were booting in verbose mode.

Good luck, hope I could help.
