Mobo: Intel DG33FB
Sound Card Vendor: Realtek
Sound Card Model: ALC888
Vendor Id: 0x10ec0888

Working: Internal Speakers, Mic (But only after adding dev ids to ALCinject and AppleHDA Info.plist)
Not Working: Line in, Headphones, Front Mic

Patcher Version used: 1.1.6
System Version: Tiger 10.4.10

obs: Using Leopard now (vanilla kernel,EFI,10.5.1) but using old kexts for sound.

Correction: With Patcher 1.18, Line-In and Headphones work. Front Mic still does not work.

Edit: With version 1.20, I get Internal Speakers & Line Out as output. Headphones are gone. For Input I get only Line in and Internal Microphone. Looks like my PC has become a laptop, lol.

A codec dump is attached (I made it with suse 10.3), and thanks to Taruga for all his hard work. Also, I read on a linux site today that the aluminum imac uses this sound card also.

Vendor Id: 0x83847634

Working: Internal Speakers, Headphone Jack
Not Working: Internal Microphone, External Microphone

Patcher Version used: 1.16
System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

obs: http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/ - Sigmatel 9250 codec was used from here. Version 1.17 and above do not work on my 10.5.1 system. 17-19 will supposedly implement a card that isn't listed as "Sigmatel 7634" like version 1.16, and 1.20 doesn't accept any information at all.

Patcher Version used: 1.20

My only problem is after sound is patched (I tried different patcher versions 1.12-1.19 as well) and I cannot complete a shutdown. The screen goes black, but the power stays on. I need to power off the laptop by holding the power button.

If I replace AppleHDA.kext with the original Leopard version - laptop shuts down fine. I even tried my working kext from 10.4.11 and same problem.

Sound Card Model: ALC883
Vendor Id: 0x10ec0883

Working: Nothing
Not Working: Mic, Headphones, Speakers, SPDIFF

Patcher Version used: 1.20
System Version: Leopard 1.5

obs: The patcher told me it was succesfull, everything is detected and I can see all the correct outputs and inputs in the System Preferences, there just isn't any sound.
The red light in the SPDIFF connector does light up, which it didn't do before I ran the patcher, but also no sound is coming from it. (tested it with my Harman Kardon receiver..)

I attached the codec dump made using Knoppix to my post, is it correct that I have two codecs files in /proc/asound/card0? One is about the ALC883 card (which I dumped in the patcher) and another one has only a few lines in it. Do I need to do something with the other one? (I attached that one as well..)

I have the same set-up as you. I'm using a USB Headphone/Mic Adaptor, works great to get sound out, mic in working for now.

obs: I can't get the patcher to do anything. It worked fine in Tiger, but in Leopard it just sits there when I place a dump on top of it. No output at all - like it isn't running at all. Is this a permissions problem or something? I've tried loads of different HDA patchers and about 4 different dumps downloaded from here, plus of course my own one (attached).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Taruga: Try the attached installer (ALC883Installer) . Good luck

Hi Taruga - Thanks for the installer. Worked perfectly. Have sound again - yay! Mic appears to be going too. Thanks for all your hard work.

Hi,

Computer Type: PC / Intel D101GGCL
Sound Card Vendor: Realtek
Sound Card Model: ALC861
Vendor ID: 0x10ec0861
Device ID: 0x437B1002

Working: All Working (Just the crackles and rare sounds at startup but it isn't important).
Not Working: None

Patcher Version: None / ALC861.zip
System Version: Tiger 10.4.10 / Kernel 8.10.1

Observations: Hi Taruga, i just replace a little thing into the into the AppleHDA.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/Info.plist the A for the B. (i mean Device ID: 0x437A1002 for Device ID: 0x437B1002). And now it's working. I post this edited file on my topic about D101GGCL giving the credits to you. You can download and check this correction on that file. Follow this link.

Good Luck! and Thanks A Lot!

PD: If i have to remove the file because i'm violating some rule or your copyright please tell me and will remove it. Sorry if i'm doing wrong. You are the man.

Working: Line out (internal speakers + headphone), Mic (jack only), possibly SPDIF out
Not Working: Mic (integrated), Headphone volume (low)

Patcher Version used: none - ALC861.zip
System Version: Leopard 10.5.1

Obs:
First, THANKS A LOT !!! finally got sound working, and mute works too. I can't test SPDIF out. Integrated microphone doesn't work but nevermind, it's not very good anyway.

Most "annoying" thing is the headphones: when plugging jack in/out, external speakers mute/unmute appropriately, but headphone volume is extremely LOW. Even when putting the volume to the maximum, sound can hardly be heard (but there IS sound).
The only workaround I found to use headphones is to connect external speakers (that include an amplifier) to the laptop's Line Out, then connect headphones to these speakers. But it's only possible at home, obviously smile.gif.

In case it could help you solve this problem, I attached the Linux codec dump. Thanks again for your great work!

So I edited the info file in the kext, for the mic the nodeids are 9,34,24. the speaker nodeids are 2,12,20. after i reboot, the mic works very well. I tryed it. But, whatever i change the speaker's paramiter, it doesn't give any sound. so please help. When i use ubuntu 7.10, it has sound.here is the dump file from ubuntu.
