So I got the iPod nano. They gave all the accessories including the plastic dock. so what is the purpose of the plastic dock? it looks like it could be attached to something.

btw, what video file format can the new nano support? because i cant seem to move videos in ipod via iTunes.

The purpose of it is if you purchase a universal dock adapter, then it will click into that and fit the nano.
The video format is MPEG-4 or MOV files.
