Full Version: Problem patching leopard

im installing leopard on an external HDD connected through USB, I fallowed all the steps and when i get to the patching part it doesnt goes as shown in most of documents
(f8 at darwin, then -s and then a menu),
I get no welcome screen to select my language, or any spot to select users terminal
it says ERROR: firewire unable to determine security-more; defaulting to full-secure.

Root device is mounted read-only
and some other lines
when I try to access the flash drive it wont let me

does anybody has an advice for me, thanks
