Your system specs, especially your gfx card and type and motherboard chipset would be helpful in advising you. If you are using a supported nVidia 256mb pcie card, then if you install Natit Dual v02, you should get full qe/ci and resolution. You can also manually edit your com.apple.Boot.plist with terminal and add:
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>1280x1024x32</string> (or higher if you'd like)
You have to play around with different resolutions here. Not all will be accepted with every gfx card/monitor combo.

You do not modify your com.apple.Boot.plist, at first choose right driver for your card if not resolve use displayconfigx and insert all specification of your monitor (horizontal refresh, vertical refresh, pixel frequency etc) then add resolution desired.
Bye
p.s. you must use"purchased" displayconfigx to add desired resolution
