Leopard is still in its beta stages and I know one person who managed to install it, but they didn't use the Kalyway 9a527. They used a different Hackint0sh Leopard ISO and managed to get it working in VMware. I'd advise not to run anything higher than OS X 10.4.9 on VMware. I have already tested Kalyway 10.4.10 on VMware and it doesn't work because the new 8.10.3 kernel is not compatible with VMware. If 10.4.10 Kalyway won't work on VMware, then good luck getting 9a527 to work....
