hey everyone. i have a macbook and i need to connect to a wireless network thats pretty far away. i have an old linksys wireless router i was wondering if i could use the router just as an external antenna. im not sure this will work though becuase aren't routers only used to create networks, not acess other networks? i dont want to create a wireless network from the router just a direct connection as antenna to my computer. any ideas would be a huge help. thanks.

this may be possible with one of the custom linuxes they have for routers, i am unsure though
and i highly doubt its possible out of the box

It's possible with OpenWrt.
Check that site and forum.

hey thanks guys, ive been messing around with it so far but its not working so far. i looked at openwrt but my linksys router is not supported since its too old. im not sure anythings gonna work so i found a usb external antenna adapter on ebay for ten bucks so im probably gonna get that to connect the cantenna to my macbook.
