Hi dear all:
I would like to carry my Entourage data in order to use it at the two or three macs I have access to.
This, as an alternative to have synchronization via web servers like dotMac. Besides that I can't afford this type of services, good Internet connections is not a thing to consider where I live.
Before upgrading to this world of Mac, which, by the way, I'm so happy to meet, I used to carry my PST Outlook file on my mobile hard disk. Pretty easy to configure: I just took the PST file from its original location and moved it to my USB disk. Then, when I loaded the Outlook, it asked me where was the missing file, but it was just the first time after taking the file out of its original location. If by mistake I did not had the disk plugged to the PC, it only was necessary to reopen the application skipping its warnings.
Here, at the OSx world, it seems to be different: I had found that there are files (the ones that have the calendar I guess) that are always open by the OSx as soon it starts. So I can't move them because it/they are always accessed.
Do you guys have an idea how to achieve this? Anyway, my idea is to have the data in the USB stick and never worry about synchronize before I leave the computer, wondering if the process was complete and missing it if there is a hurry, etc. etc.
Thank you for your kind attention.
Best regards,
Mauricio
