I have an IBM T-60 with a ATI x1300 (64 MB dedicated, up to 224 shared utilizing main memory ATI calls it HyperMemory). I have JaS 10.4.8 Intel SSE2/3, 8.8.1 kernel, running with QE/CI supported, native 1400x1050x32 resolution working fine, sound working, power managmenent (at least the battery indicator working) but I still have a few things that seem to pop up
  • I'm getting the mouse tearing which I can live with, but when running games I get some wierd thin black lines and screen flicker on part of the screen. The games (like Civ IV, Command and Conquer, AoE,) are mostly playable, but these blinking line artifacts are annoying. Profiler shows the video card as an ATI x1300 with 128MB RAM, and I'm wondering if this is a problem. Does OS X support HyperMemory? Has anyone else had this issue with the x1300?
  • Also copying files to and from USB memory sticks is slow as hell in Mac OSX compared to XP or Linux on the same laptop. I've looked in the forums, but maybe I'm just missing something here?
Thanks for any pointers to finish these. As soon as the 3945 wireless is done, I'll be a very happy hackintosh owner.
