Full Version: SAFARI craps-out on just about every page browsed to...

I installed 10.4.1 x86 on an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ system.
Almost everything seems to be working except for a few apps and my sound.

1) Safari just plain doesn't like most of the URLs I try to browse to...for example, I can't use Google or Yahoo because when I enter a search term and click the submit button, Safari crashes. I am only able to use Microsoft Live search without it crashing.
I was thinking about installing an alternate browser, but have no way of browsing to the download page of the particular browser I want because of Safari crashing. I wanted to try Firefox, Netscape or iCab...

Is there a fix for this? Maybe a newer Kernel, 10.4.6 maybe?

2) iTunes and iChat don't load, even after the downloaded updates.

3) My onboard audio won't work, so I disabled it in the BIOS and installed my SoundBlaster Live PCI card with still no audio.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You're using something that's WAY WAY WAY too old. Get 10.4.8.

I guess the only way to have sound is either to enable onboard audio or use the external USB soundcard module.

SoundBlaster Live or any other PCI cards won't work.
