wouldn't it be easier to put these on a central server somewhere and 'somehow' point our 'software update' applications to it?
okokok so Apple would string me up by my balls for making such a suggestion, but it would be easier for us and Mr. Mac

This build fixed everything I had problems with in the last one, including the retarted Applications folder that would randomly create itself in my user folder, and the fact that the dragging into the HD would open in a weird sized window so i'd have to drag to the bottom to reach the rest of the folders. Now it opens the finder while dragging and dropping to the normal size I use it at, which is nice.
So far so good.
Thanks a LOT mr.mac!

I had some problems updating my hackintosh to 10.4.9
I used the delta update and before restarting I copied over my backuped mach_kernel, system.kext, ionetworking.kext and applesmbios.kext
But when I restarted it hang at logonwindow.app I managed to get an 10.4.4 logonwindow.app and replaced it, then I keeps not booting but now complaining about could not finding an extension and something related to ACPI....
Any clues?

DiaboliK is right about the new kernel - my uname -a reveals 8.9.1 on my Macbook.
dont suppose you hackitosh users will have noticed that one ;-)

Yeah i went back to 10.4.8 as the new 10.4.9 broke something because my ut2004 just kept crashing (lol) but the first 10.4.9 worked well so ill stick with either 10.4.8 or the first 10.4.9

So did anyone tried the same installation method as with the 8P2117(intel) update on their hackintosh? Any success with backupping AppleSMBIOS, IONetworking, IOATAFalmily, System.kext, Loginwindow.app, mach_kernel and then installing this baby ?

Yes it worked the same as 8P2117(intel) just fine only problem i found was that i couldnt run ut2004 anymore because it would instantly crash other than that it was pretty eh ok

this is not true - *why* does it have to be out before leo? 10.3 was updated after 10.4 was out.
also, people are saying this is the last release of 10.4 - uhh.. is a 10.4.10 impossible? i think not.
Adrian Fogge
Jan 19 2007, 11:27 PM
That is heresy! The mighty Excel Gods tell us that 10.4.10 comes between 10.4.1 and 10.4.2! Sure, to the rest of the world, 10.4.10 is 10.4.1 and some stupid code monkey forgot how to properly deal with decimals.
So, until they start teaching little kids that 4.9 + 0.1 = 4.10 instead of 5, you are out of luck.

Okay I installed this update, now my Apple Remote won't launch Front Row. The remote works to control the volume in VLC but it WILL NOT load or control Front Row even if I launch it with the keyboard. Any suggestions or a way to downgrade to the last version? Help Please! By the way, I'm on a C2D MacBook.
