Sorry for my stupid question, but where can I find the device id of a specific device? On a debian machine, i would use lspci -nn for that.
I can't believe that this is impossible from within osx... How is this tool called in bsd-world??? Thanks in advance!

Just go into your system profiler, select the "device" (Graphics, Ethernet, etc), and there you get the ID.

Is there another way? System Profiler shows me the two devices attached to the primary pata bus (I don't know why, but the secondary pata bus isn't recognized by osx...).
I need the DeviceIds of that PATA Chipset to enable DMA

Edited first post, lspci -nn shows the IDs, not -vv
