Full Version: I installed mac osx jas os 10.4.7 but cant connect to my router

Installed finally but cant get on the internet im using my network card which is going into my netgear router but when i try to connect to the internet it says my cable is unplugged

What NIC are you using? There are only certain cards which work.

Im using on board nic mobo i have is ASUS a8n-vn csm i found a mac driver for the usb modem i have gonna give it a try but now i have found this mac osx wont boot up no more here we go again for the forth time hope it will keep booting up so i can try this modem driver out so is my mobo nic not supported by this os

Go to apple menu -> About this mac -> More info and look in Network to see OS X even recognizes your card.

If it doesn't, then find out which chipset your card has and start searching to see if its compatible between this forum and the wiki in the Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

That should get you headed in the right direction to see if your hardware is compatible (in some way, shape, or form) with OS X.
