What os, cause it all depends, in windows use serv-u and remember to forward port 21 on your router, also, some isps deem it breech of contract to run any fixed server (mine does, rr home) so be careful with that....

Mad easy. Get Filezilla. Its freeware, and comes with a free server client. If your behind a router, open up port 21, and run it. Should work, thats what i do. I would suggest debian linux though. Works better. I run my apache server on there and it never crashes.

pc-bsd if hes gonna switch oss, but serv-u is good too smile.gif thats what i use........

I second Filezilla it is awesome software. I had been using serv-u and then found Filezilla and never looked back.

P.S. dont forget about port forwarding on your router too!
