Technobob
I have been running it now for a few hours and it's working better then the last beta and no bugs that I have noticed yet.
DiaboliK
hows the memory footprint? has it gotten any better?
Technobob
I have 6 active torrents and it's using 120mb so it's still a RAM hog thumbsdown_anim.gif It does not bother me too much I have 1GB and it's not my main system, the computer that Azureus is running on is just a downloader/file server.
JaS
Thanks for the heads up,I will try it out now smile.gif
U.C.

miguelcerca

Technobob

Technobob
Looks like it has a bug in it for me sad.gif my CPU usage is now 30% with only one torrent open sad.gif going back to my older build
domino
Sorry mate. I can't confirm. I use transmission. An it looks like the new feature isnt true for you? I need to wait and see other comments before i make a conclusion smile.gif.
xtraa
Running smooth and slick here, no performance probs.

Maybe a buggy plugin, @technobob?
Technobob
It maybe SafePeer it's the only added plug-in, I gave up in trying to figure out PeerGuardian. I will try again without SafePeer when a couple puplic torrents are finished. I just wish uTorrent would make a OSX version, I'm thinking about going back to winblows just to go back to uTorrent. I don't like Transmission it's too basic and is banned on many private trackers.
domino
You might be able to run uTorrent with wine, if you know wht I mean.
Technobob
I tried that but one of the features that I need thats both in Azureus and uTorrent does not work in wine. I use autoimport torrents from folder, I have a dedicated computer for my downloads. I download the torrents on my laptop then drop them on a shortcut (alias) to the import folder then they load automatically on the dedicated computer. I'm downloading JaS's 10.4.7 DVD and Vista beta 2 build 5472 and will reinstall my system and see if the problem is fixed.
xtraa
Yes, or as an alternative:

I have uploaded my Azureus here, it is also the latest beta, but I had a mdified
version and just replaced the jar. You can download it and give it a try, maybe that
will fix your problems. (Don't forget to sudo chown -R and chmod -R it)

If it is still slow, then it has to be something within your system.

Download from rapidshare

Tell me if it changes anything

If you are interested in using that dedicated box to run Linux and Torrentflux, let me know.

@xtraa

I tried your version and CPU usage is better, I will see how 2.5.0.0 is after a reinstall of the OS later in the week

@domino

I'm not a Linux fan but thanks for the suggestion
Technobob
After installing JaS's new 10.4.7 DVD and using the offical release of 2.5.0.0 my CPU usage is back to normal.

Now I just need to repair my local network problem with SMB & AFP

Swad
I tried the beta but wasn't too impressed. Still sluggish here.
Technobob
2.5.0.0 is not beta it's a stable release

I don't have any sluggish issues it's running about the same as it does in winblows but it's no uTorrent sad.gif

Edit: I changed to the subject seeing 2.5.0.0 is now a stable release and no longer beta
DiaboliK
the only problem i have with the 2.5 version is that i cannot save to a diff partition/HD other than my desktop, if i try anyother drive or partition it says a error trying to make file.
Technobob
I just tried it and it works fine for me, I can save to all my hard drives including a couple external drives and networked drives.

Maybe you have a permissions problem
LedY
Has anyone tried http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/azureus...SX.dmg?download or is everyone using the Azureus sw update from 2.4.0.2->2.5.0.0 like I did? Just wondering if the Azureus_2.5.0.0_OSX.dmg will install correctly or will a custom version have to be built again and posted on the Intel Mac Azureus Wiki page http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/index.php/Intel_Macs
xtraa
@LedY:

All updates worked fine with the customized versions. But I can only speak for the
custom version that I have installed here.
asap18
torrentflux owns, just tried it on my server and its much faster than azureus with much less memory.
