I'm running a Hackintosh so please move this topic to the correct sub-forum if necessary.
The computer is currently running on 10.4.6 with 10.4.7 update and it was running perfectly fine until today. For some reason it lost network connection to the router. Upon inspection of the setting, it's saying the computer had assign itself an IP address even tho DHCP is set to automatic mode. I have try the following solutions.
1. Turnoff IPv6 and renew the DHCP lease. Same problem. IP address reading 169.xxx.xxx.xxx
2. Clean out the DHCP setting, unplug the cable and restart the computer. Same problem.
3. Delete the MAC address from the Linksys router's IP table and reset OSX's DHCP setting. Same problem.
The odd thing is that the router does see the MAC address of my Hackintosh and assigned it an IP address, according to the IP table. Don't know why OSX will not accept it. The network was working fine for a few months and the problem just started today. My other PC on wireless is working without problem.
