I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and what they have done to fix it. I installed Jas 10.4.6 on my machine that uses a P4 3.0 630 and a Asus P5GD1-VM. Now supposedly the sound is supposed according to the wiki but it does not. I have even updated the OS to 10.4.7 with no luck. Any ideas?

According to a quick search, you have ALC861 audio. Read the following post (be sure to read the text under the quote in that post):

Yeh that post worked for me.

I used the GUI and did apple+I on the folder that contains the plist file and changed the permissions from system to me. Then I edited the file in text edit. Then I set the permission on the folder back to system. I think I might have changed the permissions on the file itself but I can't really remember. Definately on the folder though.
