How do I get ethernet working on my Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L? Was there a driver I was supposed to tick in the custom installation menu?
Also, when I get the internet working on it, will it be safe to update to 10.5.8?
Thanks.

What motherboard revision do you have? Rev 1.x should work natively.

I have Rev 2.0.
What should I do?

Add a PCI network card that has a Realtek 8169SC chipset, e.g. Trendnet TEG-PCITXR. Very cheap.

I have to agree with Horne Fisher, you should just buy a cheap PCI NIC and it will save you a lot of trouble.
I have rev 1.x which works great natively (DSDT patch in SL). I read a lot of people with rev 2 boards that can't make it work and just ended up buying a pci nic.
Goodluck.
