Hello,

I have read the post on this subject so far in the forum but have found that did not work for me.

I have booted the gparted livecd and had hfs available but not hfs+
Diskutility in the mac doesnt give me an option to convert a fat32 to hfs+ or to format the partition
only the whole disk seems to be changable.

Transmac and macdrive seem to be able to format already formatted hfs+ drives but not new ones
since the hard drive i want to format is not picked up in the device list.

Rather stuck

thanks for your time

Format a partition to FAT (not FAT32 or ells). Then format this partition to HFS+ in OS X.

Aye, that usually denotes a problem with the Partition Table. You will probably see a small yellow exclamation mark next to the drive in Gparted. As above, format to FAT then HFS+ in OSX. GL
