I have vista and leopard 10.5.5 on one hard drive on two partitions. I would like to replace my vista partition with windows 7.
The last time I put windows (vista) on my computer I had to swipe it clean to be able to install.
I would swipe my computer, but my only concern is, is there any easy way to copy os x partition to an empty partition and extend it's size to fill the empty space.
I know of a program called clonezilla, but I don't know how to use it properly.
Basically I just hate manually installing kext files and messing with plists.
I have all of the files for my "perfect" hackintosh but it always takes me soooo long to manually fix it.
Please help.

Its very easy create a new image with diskutility and save it to another disk or try carbon copy prograam
You shouldn't have to format the whole drive.
Just Install Windows 7 to the partition that has vista now(which is likely the first partition if you have a working dual boot), then use diskpart from windows to set the mac partition as active. If you have chameleon v2 as I do, it will list the windows partition in the bootloader.
Just make sure when you select the windows partition from chameleon you choose the first windows part, windows 7 installed a small boot partition when I installed it, so when you use the darwin bootloader you need to call the windows boot partition to load windows correctly.

I used ideneb v1.3 to install so i don't have chameleon, its just the plain darwin bootloader. And when i put in the windows 7 disk in, it says the cd drive can't find the install disk (it recognizes it as a different cd drive than what it actually is (optiarc dvd drive)

I had zero problems w/ upgrading to 7 with a Kalyway leo install on 2 partitions in a Toshiba A205 series laptop. Clean install on the windows partition, reinstall easybcd and add os x to the windows bootloader. easy as that.
Now, if I can just figure out how to install Snow Leo...having a world of trouble with that...
