This is the final hurdle in my install of 10.5.8!

Sata drive installed everything fine, but wont read any discs once booted into Mac OS X.

It reads fine in Vista.

Firewire drive is incredibly slow in OS X but fine in Vista.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hey

Were you able to get your player to work? Mine only sees burned dvds as blanks, if I'm lucky to see anything. I also read about altering the kext, but I was wondering if you had luck first. The next step is to get the vendor ID and the device ID in vista then kick it over and modify the kext so the so the kext will read like this (example number):

(0x123w6345)
to this

(0x435d4356 0x123w6345)

this being the ids you found

Check out Find IDs for writing your own kext

But my drive works, it's seen by the disk util
