I have tried installing OSX using both the iDeneb 1.7 distro and the iatkos distro; both of which booted into darwin, displayed the apple logo briefly (Less than a second), then power cycled.

I assume something is wrong with either the method in which I am attempting to install OSX on my rig, or the video card in my rig. I am also using HDMI for video output, but I don't know if that would cause issues.

Any help or advice would be appreciated greatly smile.gif

Thanks!
Sir titan
From what I've read, OSX does support HDMI out, so that should not be the cause of the problem. I've been a long-time mac user and just recently built myself a gaming rig with a 5800 -series card. I've searched around but haven't found any kexts for it yet. So no dual booting for me yet.

Actually; I got it working smile.gif

Unfortunately the maximum resolution supported is 800x600; so I am guessing that it's just running off of some generic driver. However audio doesn't work; I think this might be a problem with the generic drivers + my video card (Audio over HDMI)

I have yet to try using the onboard audio, but as of now under System Profiler it shows that no audio devices have been connected.

In order to fix the boot problem; I had to use the option busratio=20; it seemed to do the trick smile.gif

So right now here's what doesn't work:

Audio, Hardware Video Acceleration

could you just use google the kexts and install them? I'm pretty new to this hackintosh idea, but i presume that all kexts are written to work with any installation method, be it via a distro or a vanilla install
