Hello all,
I've been trying to get my audio work for the past week on my Dell Inspiron 1521 and finally got it working but it was choppy and only worked smoothly when the mouse was moving fast. Me and a friend of mine were trying to figure this out and while downloading something from firefox i tried to play a song in itunes for some reason and it was strangly working smoothly.
So as odd as it sounds, the higher the CPU usage, the better the sound works.
Doesn't make any sense to me either. But let my friend sudo ROFLcopter wrote a simple program that basically runs up your CPU usage and itunes works PERFECTLY.
here is the script for it. Read the readme and you should have working audio. We just did this, but it seems like it just runs harmlessly in the background (i set it up in another space).
But i have smooth audio now.
Download, Unzip, and follow the read me.
Let me know of success or if it doesnt work at all.
Now that we have figured out this problem as well, we have no idea at all why the higher CPU usage makes sound work. So if anyone has any theories post them and we'll figure this out.
Enjoy.
