If this is your model in the link below then it says 1.5gb. You may want to consider a flashed PC card it is probably the only way for you to get a cheap one that is better than you have, the second link shows the ones that are compatible after flashing.

It should be but doing a quick search on ebay.uk shows you can get a real Mac 9000 Radeon card for close to the same money from a couple of suppliers in the US it would save you having to flash a PC card.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trk...radeon+9000+mac

Edit: As I remember thinking about it now the 9000 in my MDD G4 I used to own only had 64mb of ram so you still may want to go PC card flash route to get a 128mb card.

The PC card can work when flashed with a Mac rom I know when I flashed a PC 9700 pro with the 9800 Mac rom it worked fine in my MDD FW800 I had, from the everymac page it lists a Geforce4 ti as an option which had 128mb of ram it may be worth searching for as well.

Thank you,

My next question is how do i flash a card and which is the cheapest 128mb you would recommend which can be successfully flashed.

You need a PC with an AGP slot and floppy drive then you put in card to be flashed preferably with a PCI video card in it as well that is set to be the primary display. Once booted from the floppy containing the ATI flash program and rom to be flashed you backup the original rom then flash the card using the ATI program and Mac rom. Now when done power off the machine take out the flashed AGP put it into PowerMac and boot with it. As to the cheapest I got the already mentioned 9700 for something like $20 plus shipping on Ebay it is just a little more involved as you need to put a piece of tape over the AGP connector then cut it so that the number 3 and 11 pins are blocked preventing their contacting the corresponding pins in the slot on the PowerMac. Really you are probably better off looking at the cards that can be flashed in the wiki page I linked too then searching around to see what you can get for the cheapest at the moment if they are listed they can be flashed to Mac cards.

From recollection, these macs support 1.5 gigs of ram, max. Pretty sleek, given that macbooks only support 2 gigs of ram (some 5 years later!)

What is the best way to improve video playback on this mac. Youtube video and streaming videos play perfectly fine but some videos off the hard drive the video stops and the sound countines then the video catches up. How can i stp this from happening.
