Full Version: Which version to choose: Kalyway, Uphuck, Retail DVD, iDeneb, iPC...
InsanelyMac Forum > OSx86 Project > New Releases and Updates

Hello everyone,

First of all, i really searched on this forum first, my question perhaps sounds stupid, but i'm asking it because I can't find any "clear and simple" answer. I hope i'm not boring you.

My notebook is a HP NC8230, seems to be quite similar to NX8200 series...

Here's the specs:

Portable Business HP/Compaq NC 8230:

Intel Pentium M 750 / 1.86 GHz
RAM: 1gb
ATI Mobility Radeon X600 - PCI Express x16
AC '97, Sound Blaster Pro
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

Looks alright to install mac os on this one, but:

1. Which version i have to choose? Kalyway? Ideneb? Iaktos... I really have no clue of which one i have to choose!
(I found anything on the wiki regarding this notebook, a part an old realease (2007) of Kalyway, without wifi and Ethernet controller)

2. I heard about "ready" distribution for some computer, does it exists for this HP one?

3. Tiger? Leopard? Snow leopard? Help!

Hope you can help me.

Have a nice day.

Sorry for the section. I haven't done it in purpose, i was thinking "new releases" was for all the distribution. My mistake.

Nick14: i've already run by the past Tiger on my netbook, so i think it's possible. But i'm not sure.

Netbook and Laptop doesn't have the same specs

your Graphic card isn't supported so no QE/CI which means osx is kinda useless

Alright. Thanks for the advice. I just found a NC8000 thread on this forum, i will check if i can find a solution. I don't remember how, but it worked by the past.

No matter if i haven't a good resolution, it's just to try. wink.gif

edit: i have a noteboo, not a netbook as i wrote it!
