Hi all. I recently installed a totally vanilla retail SL on my ASUS 1000HEB netbook following a guide here:

After upgrading to 10.6.1, I lost support for USB mass storage devices on my system. I also noticed that if I plug in a USB keyboard, functions such as numlock don't appear to work on it, just basic keys work. What the strange part is, that the USB ports are recognized in my system profiler. This is a sample of one of the USB ports:

CODE
USB Bus:

Host Controller Location: Built-in USB
Host Controller Driver: AppleUSBUHCI
PCI Device ID: 0x27c8
PCI Revision ID: 0x0002
PCI Vendor ID: 0x8086
Bus Number: 0x1d

If you need any other info (such as kexts installed) just ask. Any help is appreciated and thanks for reading.

I have to same problem. They show up in the system profiler but nothing happens when i plug something in. The weird think though, is that 2 of my USB works just fine, but the other 2 are just dead.

I'm running 10.6 on a HP dv6, ICH9 chipset.
