I'm thinking of buying the Cooler Master Storm Scout for use with my hackintosh.

What are YOU using for a case with your build?
What do you like best about it?
What do you like least about it?
Do you keep it on your desk?
Do you keep it on the floor?

Thanks!

I like that it:
- I lightweight
- Very easy to work in
- Great airflow
- Quiet

I wish that:
- The aluminum was thicker like the Mac Pro/G5 case.
- Looks better than most cases, but not as nice as the Mac Pro/G5 case.
- The front ports weren't at the bottom
- PSU was at the bottom

Right now it's on my desk, but it will go on the floor when I'm done playing with it.

What are YOU using for a case with your build?
--> I use the Cooler Master HAF 932
What do you like best about it?
--> Not too over the top design, HAF also means High Air Flow, screwless design, wire management, and that it's big, really big wink.gif
What do you like least about it?
--> Can't think of any really, oh, it's not aluminum wink.gif and it's heavy wink.gif
Do you keep it on your desk?
--> No
Do you keep it on the floor?
-- Yes

http://shopping.lycos.com/product/view/m/5...C9ECD086E3407F# Intel sc5275e (actually it is Enlight case re branded by Intel). It wasn't my choose of case - it was simply shipped with the MB I've chosen.

It's big, black and has lots of room for components.

It's very heavy ant loud (though is equipped with silent 120mm 4 case fans).

No, under the desk.

Yes, on the floor. It may brake almost any desk. smile.gif

What are YOU using for a case with your build?
Rosewill R6426-P BK ATX

What do you like best about it?
It's cheap! At the time I bought it for my main system it was $15. It's since doubled in price, but still well worth it. I'm a big fan of cheap-yet-surprisingly good quality, and Rosewill actually does deliver that. It also looks good for what it is- a sleek black tower, no crappy looking 'bling'.

What do you like least about it?
Needs a few bucks added in extras: high quality 120mm case fans in back and front, noise-dampening kits for PSU and hard drives. But then, more expensive cases often require the same add-ons, so you can still come out well ahead and make this bad boy pretty much silent.

Do you keep it on your desk?

Hell no. Computer towers up on a desk wasting space is... feh, can't think of a polite word for it. tongue.gif

Do you keep it on the floor?

Yes, on the floor of a nearby closet.

on the FLOOR?! jesus... are you guys animals?

So you have a PowerMac G3, a G4 and a Hackintosh tower all wasting desk space?

To each his own!

Desks are for monitors and keyboards, floors are for towers! wink.gif (And actually my comps aren't directly ON the floor in the closet, they're on a wheel base in case I ever need to get behind them.)

That is a GREAT idea! I've got this L bracket that would suspend a tower off of the floor (hangs from under the desk) but your rolling platform might be even more convenient.

Thanks everyone for participating in the poll and this thread!

one is on desk, so i can thinker with it more easily, and the other one sits firmly other on the ground....i have installed dust "filters" from women's stockings, in order to prevent much dust from getting trapped inside
