Oh, you meant about Intel Optimized Firefox... "Okay, cool... When can we get Whitebox Optimized OS X?"

no comment
You know what I meant- Anyways, I just tried them both ... not bad in terms of app startup and web page loading.
I'm going over to 2advanced.com to see if there's any difference with flash/sound loading

is this 1.5.0.4?
oh yeah, came out 4 days ago...

Jun 6 2006, 12:21 AM
It's an optimized build by DeerPark and it was released 2 days ago.
I'm sorry- but have you even bothered to read what was posted about those builds on that site?

Jun 6 2006, 12:25 AM
Why bother reading, when I can get you to do it for me? ;-p
Okay, lemme look.
okay, are you happy, I'm downloading it!
God, dont hit me anymore!

Jun 6 2006, 12:33 AM
hahahah ... hit you? Nah- I'm not into violence ...
Alright, back to the topic-
Flash runs beautifully, including sound- I've also noticed the web pages load much faster and smoother than the generic build.
I'm keeping this!

yeah... it's just something I say when people get all agitated.
"I'm sorry, stop hitting me!"
It is better, I'm sorry for doubting, oh master

This is strange I can't run it, all I get is the icon bouncing in the dock and the menus but no window, tried both links.

It'd be nice if Firefox loaded as fast as Safari.

Are you sure you are installing the right build- intel and not ppc? You might want to uninstall the old firefox instead of installing over it.

I'm using the Intel build, I will try removing FireFox but I've had DeerPark and FireFox at the same time before.

Still not working

I removed all traces of FireFox and rebooted before I tried this build but same thing. I will give it another try when I reinstall, I did the Quicktime update and it has caused a few sytem problems.

This is really strange ... I think something's quite messed up with your installation. I had no issues with any application installation, including quicktime[update]/firefox [generic/deerpark build]

Sweeeet! I was hoping someone would notice the speed at which the app launches & loads web pages... I guess pretty soon Safari will have something to worry about

Thanks for the feedback!

working good here. no hassle in the installation, no problems with my 8 extensions. It doesnt load faster than safari but it definitely render pages way faster than camino or safari, expecially on flash rich pages such as soccernet.com. Good find TeKKi!

Heh, I can see the menu bar for this app but the browser doesn't appear. I also deleted previouse firefox version and still browser does not appear. The only way to close it is to use "Force Quit". Mayebe there is a differece between firefoxy and aqua? Downloading Firefoxy now to test.

No difference with firefoxy and aqua version either. I thought it may have been with previouse theme or plug-ins but no deal. Anyone have thoughts about using Uno Theme that may cause the problem?
Baa, I couldn't really give a rats ass. I don't trust other people ripping out the guts of another dev's work anyway.

The fact that it works for some and doesn't work for others raises questions.
I'm going to email the developer and direct him to this forum- hopefully he can sort you guys out as I am not familiar with firefox.
For those that have successfully launched firefox and have it working- Rock On Dudes! I switched from Safari to firefox after finding this build. Also, if you launch this build and quit and launch again you will notice that the application really does load faster than safari.
Enjoy!

Nope doesnt work on mine
But if u notice, when u launch the app, it opens a window.
This window is very small, it looks a small 'i' near the blue apple. Look carefully. Now enlarge it by dragging. There u go, it works. But no menu, no address bar. Nothing, its just a blank window with the name firefox. Cant quit it either
Have to 'Force Quit'

I just finished reinstalling and tried this app as the first thing I did and I get the same thing as before.
It may not be the program it may be what version of Mac you are running, I'm running 10.4.5 Myzar.

im using 10.4.6 GoatsecX, with UNO theme installed running on a sse3 p4 processor.
For those who can't install it, try creating a new profile for it if you havnt done so. should work.

Firefox is the best web browser / my choice/
wish to speed it up ?
try this trick
in the address bar type: about:config
1. Find network.http.pipelining and double click on it so it = true
2. Find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests double click on it and change it from 4 to 100
This makes FF use 8 threads to each page.. and it's really the FASTEST browser...
