Full Version: Usability with Linux

The KDE group just set up a usability workgroup to help with the usability of KDE.

Personally, I see this addressing one of linux's main downfalls - it's written by coders with more care given to the code and the features than the UI. It's powerful but not simple.

I know there's a lot of contention on this point but I thought I'd see what you thought.

I hope it does get a bit simpler. But then again everything seems too complicated for me.

Interesting... glad the focus has shifted but honestly KDE (like Gnome) is built to perform all the tasks of the terminal. If linux is to succeed as a desktop platform that will need to change, users need simple tools to do simple tasks.
