I have posted long ago here and got no help at all. I am coming to you guys her because I am tired of windows and really want to try out Mac OSX before I go and buy one. Now, I tried iATKOS and I got it to load though no internet. I also think I burned it wrong because it seemed it was missing things. I tried iDenebe and that did not work for me but I am a noob at this stuff so it had to be my fault. I have verizon internet hooked up to a Westell modem which is hooked up to netgear wpn824v2 router.

Now for my PC. I have a Gateway GT5428 with Windows 7 RTM. For less typing here is a picture of my system summery. Do you think you guys can help me out with the best version of hackintosh and one that will work with my internet?

Try Kalyway 10.5.1.
The internet DO NOT depends on a distro. It depends on drivers installed. Usualy such drivers are installed after the booting to working OS. So use any distro that gives you a working system, then find and install the needed driver.

Differently from Windows, OS X is limited to support only the hardware installed on genuine macs. So if the device isn't integrated with any mac it will not work out of the box. Such devices usually are supported by a custom drivers (ever modified original OS X drivers or new written). Or may be supported by the device manufacturer.

If your modem has an OS X driver install it. If it doesn't... well it won't work.

I would be doing a clean install. I for got to mention that I have used kaylway before. It did not boot up unless the disk was in the drive. I also was not able to see the text in the boxes and in the drop down menu's.

Normally, in any dual OS system a so called boot loader needed to boot one of the OS'es installed. If there is no boot loader installed or the Windows boot loader isn't modified, OS X will only boot from an install disk. So the problem is not a distro specific.

Above the Kalyway, iDeneb, iAtkos there are not much left. iPC, XxX, Leo4all. You may try all of them, but it will take time. Mainly the problem is not about the distro, it's more about the installation methods.

Then there are drivers. It should work. e.g. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=25477 and http://sites.google.com/site/osx86guides/H...work-connection
