This is probably the noobest question ever asked here and i'm embarassed but i must know. When they say core 2 duo 2.6ghz does taht mean two cores each at 2.6ghz or does that mean 2 cores each at 1.3ghz?

I wasn't really asking what a core 2 is i know it's a type of processor I mainly wanted to know when they say core 2 DUO 2.6 GHZ does that mean two 2.6ghz processors or 2 1.3 ghz processors?

In your example (Core2Duo 2.6Ghz) the processor contains 2 cores (the duo) and EACH core is running at 2.6Ghz.

however you still to not add 2.6 + 2.6, that's incorrect
