Hey whats up,

I'm interested in overclocking my Intel Pentium D 2.80GHz to about 3.00 GHz.
Anyone wan't to enlighten me?

You won't see a difference. Overclocking on netburst made no realistic performance increase.

They burn out more hardware then they actually help.

If you really want to overclock, you're gonna have to use an external program to do it since you have a dell. Use clockgen, it's the best for software overclocking.

i wouldn't say overclocking a Pentium D will get you anywhere, with the 800mhz FSB and 2+2mb L2 cache...they don't have much performance to gain.

I have a Pentium D 940 lying around...if you're interested in it, i'd say check around and see if your dell supports it...feel free to send me a PM if you'd like, I don't have a use for it anymore, i'm trying to sell my older hardware.
