Hello, I'm running kalyway 10.5.1 on my laptop.. The graphics are a little bit buggy and there are no HD-button for HD supported videos on youtube..
I've not installed any drivers and I don't know if I need to, which one and how.It is a nVidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics card with 512MB memory.
But this is what leopard says:

You need to upgrade to at least 10.5.2 with Leopard Graphics Update (see Apple Downloads) AND you need an Injector (Natit, NVKush, NVinject) with correctly edited Info.plist.
There is plenty of posts, threads, tutorials about that, you just need to search 5 more mins. (This is the time I needed to figure it out)

Thanks, but the problem is that they can see and give out the I.P adresses that downloads torrents and such now.. I know that I have kalyway 10.5.2 on any dvd somewhere but that it doesn't work when I write the cpus=1 command.. How can I upgrade to 10.5.2 ?
EDIT: I installed any nvidia driver program but the whole os got buggy and when I shut down it came up commands and it was typing sevens. (7) Trojan, or that I didn't have 10.5.2? Can I try to boot again?
also, I have kalyway installed to my usb hd
Thanks for replying

If you have enough time you can download 10.5.7 combo update here :
Apple DownloadsThis is an official, legal, free to use, direct download.
Before installing it be sure you can run vanilla kernel (you have a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo), or save your kernel and seatbelt.kext + System.kext somewhere. A so called "Voodoo based" 10.5.7 kernel is available somewhere in this forum.
Save any modified kext you have before installing, particularly ACPI/APIC related kexts. Be sure you have a Disabler.kext or IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext installed AND loaded. It may panic during install if there's not.
After installation and BEFORE reboot, put your kernel and patches back to where they were and correct permissions.
After that done, you should be able to run your 8600M GT without a problem. In theory, as this card is actually used in MacBook Pro, you just need an injector (one and only one kext). So any other installation is more likely to produce bugs.
Hope it helps you.

Thanks a lot!

I'll try this someday when I have enough time. Do you know if there is a guide or something for doing this manually? Am I supposed to download the update and fix the kexts and stuff in my mac os 10.5.1?
I installed 10.5.1 to my usb hd and I'm running via that way but yesterday I tried to download a nvidia driver app which made it go very buggy and when I shut down it came up text and such on the screen and the background was black (like when u install kalyway, not a kernel panic I think..)
so I shut down via the power button on my laptop..
Should I re-install 10.5.1, is it a trojan or what do u think? Maybe it's cus I had 1.5.1..?
Back to the kalyway topic: Could I use punk32's nvidia installer if I get 10.5.7?

A sure thing is that you can't use this card with 10.5.1, simply because there is no support for it. Support have been added with the Leopard Graphics Update with 10.5.2.
You can download the 10.5.2 or 10.5.3 updates from apple if the 10.5.7 is to heavy (I think 10.5.2 Combo is about 350 MB, while 10.5.7 is over 730 MB). I have seen you've got a Core 2 Duo, so you can use Vanilla Kernel (it may break your sleep function though).
If you want a step by step explanation about upgrading osx, PM me, this is the place to discuss it.

Here's how to solve the Geforce 8600m GT 512mb issue (worked on dell xps m1530)
Assuming you already know about kext files, clearing extensions caches, repairing permissions...
First: get your vendor id and device id from a windows partition or wherever. I got mine from Device Manager, right-click, properties, details, Device Instance ID. Copy the VEN number and the DEV number. Plant those in your kext (there's a guide somewhere)
Download NVkush and install (I haven't explored expanding the vram yet, but it shouldn't be too hard)
If you've already installed NVinjector, you'll need to remove it.
boot into -v -s
sudo -s
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/NVinject.kext
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/NVinjectGo.kext (if applicable)
reboot
Voila
Worked for me, may or not work for you, but if you have an XPS m1530 with this card, might as well give it a shot
FYI- Don't mess with the EFI string. I removed mine before doing all this
